20. CoQ10...35 mg - Coenzyme Q10 is contained in virtually every cell of the human
body. The most coenzyme Q10 is located in the mitochondria, the area of cells where energy is produced. Because they contain the most mitochondria per cell, the heart and liver have the greatest
amount of coenzyme Q10. Coenzyme Q10 may take several months to show beneficial results, but it has been proven in double-blind research that Coenzyme Q10 helps people with congestive heart failure.
People with congestive heart failure who take coenzyme Q10 should not stop taking it suddenly because sudden withdrawal may exacerbate the symptoms of congestive heart failure. Other improvements have
been reported in people with cardiomyopathies-a group of diseases affecting heart muscle. Research (including double blind studies) in this area has been consistently positive. Also, due to its effect on
heart muscle, researchers have studied coenzyme Q10 in heart arrhythmia patients. Preliminary research in this area reported improvement after approximately one month in people with premature ventricular
beats (a form of arrhythmia) who also suffer from diabetes. Angina patients taking 150 mg per day of coenzyme Q10 report a greater ability to exercise without problems. This has been confirmed in
independent investigations. Coenzyme Q10 appears to increase the heart's tolerance to a lack of oxygen. Perhaps as a result, preliminary research has shown that problems resulting from heart surgery
occurred less in people given coenzyme Q10 compared with the control group.

21. Full Spectrum Grape Extract...10mg - Grapeseeds contain a
remarkable bioflavonoid, complexes known as Procyanidolic Oligomers (PCO). These bioflavonoids act as free radical scavengers like vitamin C, Vitamin E and Beta Carotene. The main functions of
proanthocyanidins are antioxidant activity, stabilization of collagen, and maintenance of elastin-two critical proteins in connective tissue, blood vessels, and muscle.

22. Hawthorn Berry
Standardized Extract (flowers, leaves, berries)...400mg Hawthorn has numerous benefits to the heart and blood vessels. It may improve coronary artery blood flow and the contractions of the heart muscle. Clinical trials have confirmed hawthorn is beneficial for persons with stage II congestive heart failure, even showing as much effectiveness as the diuretic drug captopril. Congestive heart failure is a serious medical condition that requires medical treatment rather than self-treatment. Other studies have shown it may help those with stable angina. Also, it may mildly inhibit angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) and reduce production of the potent blood vessel-constricting substance angiotensin II. This reduces resistance in arteries and improves circulation in the extremities. The bioflavonoids in hawthorn are potent antioxidants. Hawthorn extracts may mildly lower blood pressure in some individuals with high blood pressure. However, these extracts should not be thought of as a substitute for cardiac medications for this condition.

24. Ginkgo Biloba
...50mg - GBE increases circulatory efficiency throughout the entire body. Both the arteries (the large vessels) and the capillaries (the small vessels) experience increased circulatory efficiency because GBE regulates the tone and elasticity of blood vessels. GBE increases circulation to the brain and the extremities.

29. Tocotrienol concentrate
(standardized for 15% tocotrienols)...50mg - The Journal of Environmental and Nutritional Interactions publishes findings that show that tocotrienol-rich extract reduced total cholesterol 14.1% and LDL (bad cholesterol) by 20.6%.
30. Trimethylglycine (Betaine)...100 mg - Controls homocysteine levels.
31. Soy Isoflavone Concentrate...100mg - Exactly how soy lowers cholesterol remains
a scientific debate but phytosterols and other components of soy have been reported to lower cholesterol levels. A meta-analysis study that pooled thirty-eight trials for reanalysis reported that a soy
diet led to cholesterol reductions in 89% of the studies. Increasing soy intake was associated with a 23 mg per deciliter drop in total cholesterol levels.

39. L-Arginine...100mg - Arginine is also a precursor to nitric oxide, which the
body uses to keep blood vessels dilated, allowing the heart to receive adequate oxygen. Preliminary evidence suggests that arginine may help regulate cholesterol levels. Arginine also appears to act
as a natural blood thinner by reducing platelet aggregation.
40. L-Carnitine...250mg - Its actions appear to be particularly important in the
heart. For congestive heart failure, much of the research has used a modified form of carnitine called propionyl-L-carnitine (PC). In one double blind trial, using 500 mg PC per day led to a 26% increase
in exercise capacity after six months.
Italian doctors prescribe carnitine for heart failure, heart arrhythmias, angina pectoris, and lack of
oxygen to the heart.
